SYNOPSIS
Taiwan Liamkua Smile Folksong Group was founded by the husband-wife duo Chien-chih Chu and Tien-an Lin. They are students of liamkua (Taiwanese folk ballad) performer Hsiu-Ching Yang—Taiwan’s only national living treasure for this genre—and are dedicated to promoting and preserving this art. Traditional arts are vying for resources, but they are additionally faced with the task to urgently pass on and preserve this cultural heritage.
